He had been receiving treatment in Canada at the time of his death.
Born in Peshawar, Pakistan, Qavi Khan began his career with Radio Pakistan before shifting to Lahore. He was a highly respected and accomplished actor, having appeared in more than 200 films and TV dramas since the mid-1960s.
