Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt Gravenbruch Review, Germany

The vast and stately K-Lounge, with its tall wooden columns and panoramic windows looking onto the lake, is the central meeting point of the hotel, and serves fine coffees, wines and cocktails throughout the day and evening, as well as a British-style afternoon tea with scones, and has a pleasant fireplace for winter as well as a lakeside patio.

There are two permanent restaurants: the stylish Esstisch, which serves seasonal international and European cuisine with ingredients (fish and meat) from local suppliers — including a famous tartare prepared at table. The more rustic and charming Torschänke Restaurant – with red-and-white tablecloths and wooden dining booths – has a traditional menu of German and regional classics.

In addition, there are two pop-up restaurants; the Asian-influenced NIU in winter, and the Lebanese-Arabian inspired Levante, whose expansive lakeside terrace makes it a great summer location.

A comprehensive breakfast buffet is served in Esstisch, and features a range of cheeses, mueslis, juices, egg and fish dishes, cold cut vegetables and meats, plus home-made jams and spreads, freshly baked breads, sparkling wine and honey from the estate’s garden.
