She holds the distinction of being the youngest actress, at age 17, to be chosen to understudy and eventually play the role of the female protagonist Christine Daaé in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh’s UK tour of The Phantom of the Opera in the late 1990s.
Amy was nominated in the ‘Se*iest Female’ category at the British Soap Awards consecutively from 2002 to 2005, albeit without any success.
She is trained in various dance forms such as ballet, tap, jazz, and flamenco.
On July 14, 2011, the University of Bolton awarded Amy with an Honorary Doctorate.
